Our mission is to provide low-income Indian people with the opportunity for decent, sanitary housing in a safe place while building stronger, healthier, stable communities and promoting economic independence and self-sufficiency for our people.
Our main objective is to provide:
- Affordable Housing Activities; develop, maintain and operate in a safe and healthy environment for low-income families.
- Maintain Current Assisted Stock, developed under the 1937 Act; in accordance with the MHOA and TDHE policies.
- Increase Housing Authority housing development planning, environmental assessment and funding resources.
- Fund and promote low-income housing activities to maximum extent of available financing.
- Access private mortgage markets for Indian people by loan guarantee, down payment/closing costs and creative financing.
- Single family and multi-family rental housing.
- Economic development to increase the employment base of the service area and the Tribe.
- Social programs (i.e., drug and crime prevention, and etc.)
- Manage and budget Housing Authority assets in a manner that pays expenses and makes money for reinvestment for housing.
